Dimensions: 4.97" x 4.97" x 1.93" (3.464" [88mm] puck diameter)
This system is designed with modularity in mind: the PuckChuck system doesn't lock you in to a set number of clamps or a fixed pallet size like other similar systems on the market. Place as many (or as few) PuckChucks as you like on your table to accommodate fixtures of any size. Using the precision 1/2" bore on the underside of the PuckChuck base, multiple clamps can be quickly aligned on an SMW fixture plate without the need for a lengthy tramming session.
The Automatic PuckChuck uses heavy springs to mechanically lock a pullstud in its three clamping jaws. Air pressure is only necessary to release the clamp, an intentional failsafe so that loss of air pressure ≠ loss of clamping force. The PuckChuck clamps and unclamps in seconds with the flip of a valve for effortless, repeatable setup changes.
Initial release of the PuckChuck will be exclusively the flanged mounting base version (shown in photos), intended for use with our 1/2" fixture plates or t-slot tables. Round PuckChucks for integration into custom fixtures are planned for release at a later date.
For single-receiver applications, we recommend our Mechanical PuckChuck over the Automatic version. With only one clamp to actuate, the benefit of pneumatics is not as critical and the Mechanical version allows for more clamping force and resistance to rotation.
