Expanding Pin Setup

Anti-seize application

Applying high-pressure lubricant in the areas shown in red improves the longevity of the pin and increases the clamping force (at a given torque) by reducing friction.

High pressure lubricant (a.k.a. anti-seize) is available here.

See below for the recommended application areas (shown in red).

Fixture preparation

Expanding pins require a tapped and counterbored hole for installation into your fixture. Thread and counterbore sizes are available in the below drawing.

We recommend steel for any threads seeing frequent clamping and unclamping. For aluminum fixtures, we prefer installing this style of thread inserts to ensure longer thread life.
