Customer photo review of SMW Modular Vise (Gen3)

The mod vice is one of the best solution if you are looking for a decent low profile vise. It saves a lot of space, especially if you Z travel is not a lot. I made my own fixture plate for this gen 3 mod vise and it works very well. Easy to setup and work with. Awesome quality product!

Customer photo review of Haas 4th & 5th Axis Universal Subplate

Gives me the extra space I need to machine my integral barrels in the 4th Axis. I purchased a second plate like this which I will share full pictures of the tail stock mounted on a big plate too. I just need to move the Renshaw when I add the second plate. I been on a production run so hopefully I’ll get it moved in a couple days and share that really soon. I LOVE THESE PLATES!!!

Customer photo review of Haas Pocket Mill Fixture Tooling Plate

I had a SMW fixture plate on my tormach 770 and absolutely loved it. When I replaced the tormach 770 with this haas pocket mill I knew I needed a SMW fixture plate for it too!

Customer photo review of Modular Vise System (Hobby - Gen3)

Purchase the smw hobby vice to complement my existing workholding methods. Its now become my go to method. Im using a home made pallet with a much modified printnc based router for alloys and some steels. Delivery was very quick and painless, despite living in Australia. The quality and fit of the mod vice makes me happy i brought a quality product instead if a “knock off” copy. Thanks to the team at SMW! Gary C

Customer photo review of Shapeoko 4, Pro, & HDM Fixture Tooling Plate

I wanted something inexpensive to try out before investing in a larger fixture plate. It was perfect to get my feet wet and now a full size plate and vises are on their way and this is headed to a friend.

Good set of jaws. I used them to make custom jaws for holding round stock to machine acetal bushings. Work like a champ, just like the fixture plates!

Customer photo review of Shariff DMC2 Fixture Tooling Plate

Its a good plate with holes. The hole postional accuracy is good. But mine when i bought it to save me some time making it had .005 bow in the center unconstrained on a AA surface plate. So i put it in the vmc4020 and made it flat shes perfect xy. I also paired it with some custom 4340 lower plates for the rails i machined and ground to under .0007 for flatness paralellism is perfect xy less than .0001. I also reamed the mounting holes uo by .012 so i could clock the plate and make it true to xy so not sitting at a angle noticed that was off by .003. Now i bought this 4 years ago so maybe it was a fluke as its a easy part to machine. Suggest this plate 100% for dmc2! Supplyed some pics of my build i call him johny 5.1

Customer photo review of SMW Fixture Pallet

We run a 96mm pallet system on our machines with a Lights Out Manufacturing robot loading system for production but the down side is the loss of flexibility in our set ups when it comes to prototypes and tooling. We mounted one of the Saunders pallets to a pull stud pallet to allow us to quickly drop in a more flexible set up when needed.

There is probably no other CNC accessory on the market that delivers so much value for such a good price! We use the MOD VISE for almost all projects. 10 out of 5 stars :-) Greetings from Munich / Germany

Great tool and great company! I had an issue where my machine's plate was slightly different than the plate Saunders had on file and had originally shipped to me (I had an early version of a machine) and they worked with me to get the plate corrected and shipped out in record time. Would highly recommend this company, wonderful people to work with!

Customer photo review of Haas VF-4 Fixture Tooling Plate Set

Chris approves!!! Saunders Fixture Plates are a HIT!!! This is my second SMW fixture plates and I'm sure there will be a 3rd a 4th and more. If you run a Job Shop and don't have a SMW-FP, raise your hand and smack yourself. Then, go get yourself some 4140 Bling-Bling. The versatility makes my setup time and repeatability easy like a Sunday morning. Thank You SMW.

Customer photo review of SMW 1/4" Fixturing Pin

These work excellently with Thorlabs "optical breadboard" (aluminum plate with 1/4-20 holes on 1" spacing). We happened to get a large Thorlabs plates donated to our student machine shop, and I wanted some alignment pin holes. I was torn between drilling/reaming out some of the threaded holes into alignment pin holes, making new holes in between the threaded ones, or... [enter Saunders Machine Works] just screw 2 of these into the bottom of the plate to make alignment with our t-slots easy, and then two of them sticking up from the top of the plate to drop parts onto. Problem solved! Thanks, SMW

Customer photo review of Makera Carvera Air Fixture Tooling Plate

Perfect fitment for my Carvera Air. M6 hole pattern gives way more mounting options than the stock MDF bed, and still retains pin and anchor locations for A1 and A2. Makes mounting a vise like the pictured SMW mod vise or Inception vise a breeze.

Customer photo review of Modular Vise System (Hobby - Gen3)

SMW mod vise works great on my Carvera Ait with SMW fixture plate. Can accommodate pretty large pieces of stock (for my little machine) and is easy to use. Would definitely recommend.

Customer photo review of Modular Vise System (Hobby - Gen3)

Can be a bit cumbersome, but for how compact and how well it holds parts, the hobby vise is still 5 stars. No parts thrown out, after around a dozen parts. I'm super happy that I was able to get the extra parts to make mine a dual station. I was broke, but needed a vise. I had a 3D printed one that I was using, but it wasn't very square. So I bought the single station a month or so back, then just bought everything to make it dual. Much easier setup this way. If they bring it back, I suggest it for a smaller mill, like my Milo 1.5. I was sad when they stopped selling the serrated jaws, right when I went to order a second set. But the castle grips do seem to git r done. They're much lower too. Which helps have clearance, without having to cut from taller stock. The X drawn on my one jaw, was because it was higher on one side. Turns out, the jaw was warped. SMW was kind enough to send me 4 castle grips, an a pair of smooth jaws for free. Luckily I was able to bend the serrated jaw back.
